Beyond 4-Cowrie Divination

Obi Orisha (Novice) — Structured Training & Certification

This module transitions students from the 4-Cowrie divination framework into the Obi Orisha system, expanding interpretation from 5 families of possibilities to 9 families, while establishing casting discipline, ethical boundaries, and consistent practice.

Purpose & Learning Outcomes

Novice Level

The goal is to train the student to move beyond standard 4-Cowrie “Yes/No” foundations into a coherent Obi Orisha casting practice — with clear rules for setup, elements, interpretation, and disciplined record-keeping.

  • Discernment: distinguish 4-Cowrie logic from Obi Orisha logic.
  • Identification: recognize families and sub-forms within the Obi framework.
  • Execution: perform a complete Obi Orisha casting with consistency.
  • Ethics: apply boundaries and protocols when messages are difficult or unclear.
  • Certification: demonstrate readiness through practice logs + final review.

6-Week Structure

5 → 9 Families

Weekly focus follows your outline: establish the 4-Cowrie foundation (Week 1), introduce the Obi Orisha expansion (Week 2), then deepen families and variations (Weeks 3–5), and complete assessment + certification (Week 6).

Daily Practice Protocol

30-Day Discipline

Use a simple daily log to build consistency. You can keep it in a notebook or a digital form.

  • Question format: clear, respectful, and specific.
  • Setup: same surface + same elements for consistency.
  • Result: record the family + sub-form if present.
  • Interpretation: write the message in plain language.
  • Action: note a safe, ethical next step (or “no action”).
Best practice: keep a “house glossary” page for your students so terms remain consistent.
